The Technologies in Education Program welcomes two new faculty members to our program: Dr. Sarit Barzilai and Dr. Oren Golan. We are certain that our new researchers will make important contributions to our program, our department, and our Faculty. Both Drs. Barzilai and Golan will have roles as lecturers and researchers, as well as organizers for the 2012-2013 Seminar Series. We encourage everyone to get to know them.

Dr. Oren Golan completed his doctoral studies in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. He earned a scholarship as a doctoral student, and a Fullbright Scholarship at Northwestern University, as well as NYU, for his post-doctoral studies. Dr. Golan's research interests include internet cultures, sociology and anthropology of adolescents, informal education, friendship, trust, innovation, and recently - Jewish religion in the digital age in America and Israel.

Dr. Barzilai earned her B.A. at the University of Tel-Aviv, and her M.A. and PhD. at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. Her expertise lays in approaches to knowledge, higher-ordered thinking and inquiry learning, meta-cognition and learning, game-based learning and design of learning games. In the past, Dr. Barzilai directed the Snunit pedagogical program and developed many online learning environments.

We are very fortunate to have such great new faculty enter our program, and look forward to learning from them.
